Job Offer – REIDITE Electronics
About REIDITE Electronics
REIDITE Electronics is a division of REIDITE Industries, specialized in the design, development, and assembly of advanced electronic systems for industrial environments and mission-critical applications.
The core of our activity is focused on the development of industrial processors, which represent the technological backbone of the company. These products are compact electronic systems of 55 mm × 40 mm, featuring a proprietary package that provides a high level of robustness, reliability, and resistance, especially targeted at critical systems.
Our modules are based on microcontrollers, CPUs, and FPGAs. We currently offer XIPHOS, our first industrial processor, designed for robust systems with extensive connectivity capabilities and based on a microcontroller.
In parallel, we are developing two new FPGA-based products. One of them, NEXAR, is funded by the NEOTEC program and developed in collaboration with IMSE-CSIC. This project integrates advanced cryptographic modules developed by IMSE-CSIC, which are a fundamental part of the system architecture and significantly enhance the processor’s security capabilities.
Within this context, RISC-V has been established as a new strategic line for REIDITE Electronics, with the following objectives:
- Develop and adapt stable RISC-V cores on FPGA.
- Build a common, reusable technological base for future products.
- Gradually reduce dependency on proprietary technologies such as ARM.
The transition to in-house silicon (ASIC) is planned for the mid-to-long term as part of a future product called ATLAS, but it is not within the scope of the current work. At this stage, all development is carried out on FPGA, with no silicon design activities.
Required profile and skills
At this stage, we are looking to hire a PhD holder (PhD in Electronics, Computer Architecture, or a related field) with a strong focus on digital FPGA design and a comprehensive understanding of hardware and embedded software.
Digital design and FPGA
- Strong proficiency in Verilog and/or VHDL.
- Integration and adaptation of RISC-V cores and other IP blocks.
- Design of peripherals, buses, interfaces, and control logic.
- Experience with synthesis, implementation, and place & route tools.
- Functional verification through simulation and testbenches.
Software and low-level development
- Solid knowledge of C and C++.
- Development and adaptation of low-level software, firmware, and testing on embedded systems.
- Understanding of hardware–software interaction (drivers, registers, memory, interrupts).
Electronics
- Knowledge of digital electronics and basic analog electronics concepts.
- Ability to read schematics, collaborate in board bring-up, and debug real systems.
Additional desirable skills
- Previous experience with RISC-V architectures.
- Interest in hardware security and cryptographic modules.
- Ability to document designs, structure projects, and reuse IP.
- Motivation to participate in the future evolution toward more complex architectures and ASIC, without requiring prior silicon experience.
This role will have a direct impact on the technological core of REIDITE Electronics, contributing to the development of strategic FPGA platforms and high-value technological projects such as NEXAR, which will serve as the foundation for the future evolution of our industrial processors.
